PAUL DI'ANNO Replaces BLAZE BAYLEY At CLIVEAID Event In Paris

May 26, 2008

Former IRON MAIDEN/WOLFSBANE frontman Blaze Bayley has cancelled his previously announced appearance at the Cliveaid event on June 30 at the Les Caves Saint Sabin in Paris, France. Replacing him at the concert and meet-and-greet will be former MAIDEN singer Paul Di'Anno, who will sing three songs with French MAIDEN tribute band COVERSLAVE. Also scheduled to appear are the Parisian heavy/thrash metallers DREAMCATCHER, and French illustrator Herv Monjeaud, who works for IRON MAIDEN. Monjeaud designed the "Somewhere Back In Time - World Tour 08" poster and works for French IRON MAIDEN fanzine Neighbour Of The Beast. Herv will bring some of his best original artwork and will draw Eddie sketches for those who ask.

Cliveaid is the organization which was set up in 2004 as a fund-raising event for original IRON MAIDEN drummer Clive Burr.

Burr is suffering from multiple sclerosis a disease of unknown cause. The disorder is causing him intermittent numbness and can affect his balance. At present there is no known cure for MS, although he is helping test new drugs in the hope that his body response may contribute to a cure.

Clive joined IRON MAIDEN at the very end of December 1979 and played on the first three albums "Iron Maiden", "Killers" and "Number of the Beast" and toured extensively with the band over this groundbreaking period before leaving in early 1983.
